Ware’s Got Talent 2013

November 1, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

For the fourth year running, local community-action group, LoveWare+LiveWare, presented ‘Ware’s Got Talent 2013’ on Friday 1st November at Chauncy School with judges, including The Mayor of Ware Cllr Rosalie Standley , Danny Bage from Jigsaw Theatre Company, Brian Worthington Chairman of Ware Operatic and Tim Simmonds of Future Hope.

Following auditions 19 acts were chosen to go through to the finals show.  The talent amongst the people of Ware was exceptional and varied, including a pianist, a girl playing a Thai bass xylophone (called a ‘Ranaat Thum’), dancers, a gymnast, solo singers and a boy band from Chauncy.   The standard was extremely high and the judges had a difficult time deciding.

Extra entertainment (not competing) was provided by a song and dance troupe from Jigsaw, some hilarious comic sketches from Ware Young Life and a demonstration of circus skills on the diabloby judge Tim Simmonds.

Sophia Gibbins, age 10, was the winner in the under 13 category with her extremely energetic and accomplished dance to ‘Dynamite’ and Simone Georgy Samuel  age 13 won the over 13 category (accompanied by her father on guitar) singing ‘There’s a place for us’.

Around 250 attended the event and were treated to free refreshments in the interval consisting of Fairtrade tea, coffee and home made fair-trade cakes as well as soft drinks and crisps.
